Research Group for Gender Issues and Social Minorities
Introduction
Our research group concentrates on social exclusion (and inclusion) mechanisms rooted in the gender order, and possibilities of putting equal treatment policies into practice. Our major research topics include work-life balance issues; changing family forms, definitions and roles; social discrimination of LGBT people; hidden dimensions of discrimination; AIDS/HIV intervention research in marginalized social networks.
Our goal is to contribute to the development of a more cohesive society by producing empirical research findings that, besides their academic value, can provide policy-makers with practical material to be applied especially in the field of equal treatment policy-making.
